So, I have a chance to buy my sister-in-laws 1995 Roadmaster for a song. It is entirely normal, LT1 and a 4 speed auto. I am thinking of picking it up and swapping in a T56. There is a company outside of DC that has a kit. Any thoughts? I am thinking this could make a great highway cruiser, capable of towing the Miata with a tow dolly if I need to get it somewhere.

Do it, I have seen this several time in CC. I would personally love to do this to a roadmaster wagon with the glass roof. And turn the LT1 into a boosted 383 LT4

you can make your own "kit" instead of the bbhp or whoever is making them now one.

look up wagonmaster on impalassforum.com if you buy it, he bought one of the kits and he was putting the bracket into CAD i believe before he installed it into his car incase he wanted to swap another one and not buy the part.

the kit is basically an aluminum spacer block about 1.5" thick for the f body pedals to mount to that has a clutch master cylinder mount built in. you can make it.

I have wanted to do that do a Roadmaster wagon for quite some time. I guess the 5-speed 5.0 Volvo wagon will have to do for now.

Its been guesstimated that the full conversion will cost $4-5,000! You need the kit, the 6-speed, new rear end gearing, and a new drive shaft. And I might be mistaken, ECU tuning. I had the same dreams with my 9C1, until I saw how much it would cost me.

Appleseed has a point, this could potentially be costly. What I suggest, and then I won't actually research because that sounds like effort, is a swap using a 5 speed instead of the T56. They're usually cheaper and the rear end gearing won't be quite so useless. Tremec 3550? Something else? Something used from the Mustang side of the fence? What about a blast from the past an use a Muncie M-21 or something like that instead? The gear question isn't even an issue anymore! I'm excited about someone else answering these issues I bring to the table.

I found a video a few years back of a lowered cadillac fleetwood running through the gears of a T-56. That was bad ass.

Made my modded grand marquis hide in shame.

If a manual roadmonster is wrong.... I don't want to be right.
