Bonus points for making it rear-engined.

What the heck transmission is THAT with the diff above the input? Bellhousing looks very VW/Porsche... Flipped-over G50?

Man, that setup with the super-low Corvette pan, you could have the valve covers lower than most cars' entire CG!

Yep, that's a Porsche gearbox that's been flipped upside down.

C4 corvette? I've seen them as low as 3K around me. Usually an '84 with some kind of gremlin in the crossfire injection that the owner no longer wants to bother with. Seems like a decent low buck option to me.

Most aren't improved though....and all they're doing is what the "SBC" people did over the last few decades ruining older cars.

by ruin you mean make better. some people are hacks but a properly executed swap makes lots of sense. or you'd rather have a mid 70's anemic 4, 6, or 8 cylinder anything. granted, given enough budget if i had any old nissan/datsun my engine of choice would be some sort of turbo RB, but i can run down to anywhere and grab a 5.3 for $600 or less with harness and have 300hp on tap with torque to back it up.

of my 4 LS powered vehicles, only one is a swap. that was pretty easy. another has 419,000 miles on untouched engine. they just make sense.

planning to do my C4 at some point, picked up a $200 sub 20k mile 08 4.8 shortblock for that.

Jeep Wagoneer. TH400 and AWD. Cheap, roomy, and stylish. For bonus points add a turbo.

I think E46. Mark my words. Next greatest LS swap platform.

Admittedly E36/46 was an idea.

If the seller flakes, you can look at an E34 or E39 for a fast sports sedan.

Im sure an e39 would be more of a wiring pain but hows the e34? does it still have the vagcom/canbus wtfever crap to control everything?
