Intimidator Stage 4?
I was fixing some under dash panels and found it attached to the PCM. I bought this truck 2 months ago supposedly stock. I have put 4k miles on it, 1300 miles towing 6k pounds to San Antonio from southern California. Have had no issues with the way the truck runs but I don't want it chipped at all on stock trans!
Whats the safest way to remove it? I'm willing to bet it's been installed for years!

If its not broke dont mess with it. I believe that company went out of business.
No wonder you thought it ran so well "stock".
A 7.3 Super Duty with an automatic is one of the most dog slow turbo diesels I've driven when completely stock. Leave it alone. It looks like it's been there awhile. Put in a gauge pod, monitor it, and be happy.
This may be a little help. They are saying it is in the diagnostic port so I asume you could just pull the chip but tred carfully it is not broke. They do mention that you should watch EGT temps with it.
Use at your own risk!!!!

I think at this point if it can tow a car+trailer across the country into Texas and didn't strand you halfway between Fort Stockton and Comfort, it's had its trial by fire and i wouldn't mess with it.
Anyway, the 4r100 (which i think you have) trans is actually pretty good. You could burn up 4th gear, but remember YOU are in control of how much torque goes through the trans, not whatever mods are in place. If you're worried about it drive around it or upgrade it.
All the lore I read is the 4r100 is the weak point of a 7.3 vehicle.

My '99 F250 dd has 540,000 miles on it. Been chipped for more than 300K, and half the miles are towing. Original trans.
She ain't slow, and gets 22 mpg. I've never babied her.
That's all I know.

That may be true but that doesn't mean the 4r100 is bad, just that opinions of the 7.3 are unusually high. You may have noticed that already..

That's true. And I am guilty too.
I didn't think I cared very much, but my recent Chevrolet experience only served to make me more loyal to the 7.3.
Rebuilding a 4r100 would have cost me less than 25% of what I had to dump into my Duramax.
Don't get me wrong- my 4r100 has never shifted well. But it has always shifted.
I'm honestly convinced that most "bad" automatics really just have bad owners that never maintain them and then run them too hot and kill the things.
In reply to Vigo:
I also think people over exaggerate how easily the 4r100 breaks. Mine shifts pretty well most times, I've honestly had no complaints.
From what I'm told on the 7.3 forums, it's a superchips knockoff from the early 2000's. I'm going to pull it and see the difference. To be honest, its already slow to me
I also, don't have an egt gauge installed yet because I didn't have time to install one before the move.
Pulled the chip, after a few restarts she indeed got slower lol

I'm about to order mild injectors and a chip for the f550. The stock injectors are tired and it's a slug.

Upgrade your trans cooler. It made a huge difference!
