As most know I'm an ex pat Brit, I grew up in the 80's addicted to Autosport and Cars and Cars Conversions magazines. I had all the CCC's from the early 80's through 94 when I moved here. Unfortunately my whole magazine collections was lost in a fire after I left. One (of many) articles I remember reading over and over was a guy who built a mid engined Metro that people mistook for a 6R4. I've searched online for it over the years with no luck. So the other day I asked over on Retro Rides if anyone had it. One kind guy did, so he scanned it and posted. I thought people here would like it too.
You'll see mention that it cost him about £2,000. There are different ways to calculate (convert before inflation, or convert then inflation) but let's call that $6,000-6,500 in todays money.

That's pretty cool. Back in the 90's, I used to drive 4 and a half hours from Fort McMurray to Edmonton every month to go music shopping at Sam The Record Man, and pick up a copy of CCC at Hub Cigar. Just got rid of my collection of CCC's a few years ago.
Plus the guy looks like Spicoli from Dazed and Confused. Cool car though!

There are a couple of very good reasons to watch Fast Times.
Anyhow - I wonder what Tilley ended up doing for a career? Did he catch the eye of an F1 team?
