The guibo is a rubber donut shaped vibration damper that bolts to the front end of the driveshaft. Sooner or later they'll self destruct, and the usual symptom is a terrible banging noise coming from the transmission tunnel when you accelerate.

I take your meaning. The one thing I have on my side is I was a used car salesman in a previous life, and a real a-hole when something is agreed to and written down on paper(ok really I'm a real a-hole always but I digress;)). If they don't follow through I'll take my money back and be on my way. no problem. I hope they don't try to screw me, I want the car. they already know I'm not their average lay down. (or Mallard. Thanks Mike, for that one.) This may end up being a tale unto itself.

Now it's labor day. I got the car saturday and drove it to columbia, then sunday drove it on home. what a sweet ride. I love it.

I took it over to a friends house, actually the guy that got me interested in bimmers. He told me about exclusive auto down in ozark, as well as import specialists in springfield. Both of which he said are excellent places to take this beast.

So I'm gonna call em tomorrow and get an idea of what all this is gonna cost. Then I'll get it done as I have the funds.

incidentally, the rust was fixed. except one small spot on the passenger front door at the bottom, surface rust bubbling under the paint. it was the one place I had not pointed out specifically to the dealership, which of course gave them an out for not fixing it even though they fixed the rust on the inside of the same door. I'm not worried about it right now.

mechanical stuff first, then body.
