friend is selling his '91 isuzu pickup (extended cab type) and i'm looking to pick it up... it's a little more then it's value in scrap so no matter what it's not a big deal...
but I'm wondering what to look out for... it has the 2.6L I4 from what I found... (guy knows very little about it) lots of rust in the bed (to be expected) but it runs/drives well from what i'm told.... i'm going to check it out here soon
what are some things I should look out for?
thanks

if it's cheap, (under $500) runs good, and doesn't smoke like a train. Go for it. Rusty box can be replaced with some lumber and an afternoon of sawing. Enjoy your new beater!
Space Cab.
That was thr name that Isuzu gave to their extended cab models and for its day, it was a pretty big extended cab.

thats the one... ya it's $500... needs a little exhaust work but nothing an afternoon with some scrap and my MIG can't fix lol...
If it's fuel injected they are pretty dang tough. Carbed ones were tough too but the carb shafts would wear meaning you couldn't get it to idle. Only remedy was a new carb base. We found out pretty quick the aftermarket remans reused the worn throttle body and thus did not fix the root cause of the problem. Otherwise, rough tough ready little trucks.
it's TBI from the research i've done for that year...
sounds like i've got a winner
