It's just bolts. If you've got all the parts I don't see why not.

I did a pedal box replacement on a bmw e28 (they tend to crack at 200k). Time consuming to get at things, but not all that difficult. Seems pedals are more difficult than the box itself - the only other thought is if there is any differences in dme/ecu stuff.

dme/ecu is the same from auto and 5spd.

The parts are the expensive part of the conversion. A clutch kit is more than the car is worth IMHO...

Depending on where you live 944s are common in junkyards (they are for sure in California), so at least cheap used parts arent a problem.

Easier and much cheaper to just buy a 944 with a manual transmission in it already. I've seen them locally for under $1000.

Quoted for truth. Runners are CHEAP! Luckily they don't rust much, but they do have several parts that are expensive enough that it's not worth repairing them.

If you do get one, change the water pump and timing belt IMMEDIATELY!
