After sitting quite some time, I fired up the motor on my F150 and the throttle got stuck at WOT long enough to blow out the rusting thermactor tube at the very rear of the motor. It's up against the firewall. I can barely get at it blind lying face down on the engine.
Any experience with replacing these? I can't find a ton of help on the Ford truck forums.
You can plug it with bolts or the available plugs, or take the tube off, cut the excess tubes off, braze the holes shut, and reintall.
I think getting it off is the problem! But it's good to know that I can block it off.
Try a "gear wrench" brand ratchet wreanch as it it so tight to the fire wall they have fine pivots like 5 deg that should help if the heads aren't all rusted.
