I love asking this after just defending the cost of ownership of Subaru's in another thread in the last few days...

We had the struts and an axle replaced in our '95 Legacy last week. When I picked it up, the ABS light came on right away. Took it back in today, they tore it apart and diagnosed an ABS sensor as bad. Apparently they tested both sides and the resistance of the sensor on the corner where the axle was replaced is showing low so that's what they think it is. They don't want to charge any additional labor but the part is $122. Sound kosher to you, GRM'ers?

Sounds like they busted the sensor while doing the axle job to me. If it's worth $122 for the problem to disappear and not argue with them about it, it's kosherish. I hate it when people do the, "My trunk latch was working fine until you changed the oil!" routine, but in this case it is HIGHLY likely that the ABS sensor was working fine until they did the axle job.
