DX Hatch, 12X,XXXish miles. Only "option" is A/C and an aftermarket cd player (which was a bottom of the line model 5+ years ago). Front bumper is a bit messed up, otherwise, it's in what I would consider average condition for a vehicle of it's vintage. CEL just popped on, they were told that it would be $1200 to repair, and they're scared. Looking online, it looks like you have to replace the entire manifold, as the Cat is integrated? Never seen this before, but I'm sure there's lots that I haven't seen before. I helped put a new muffler on about a year ago when the owner backed into a short retaining wall and caught the tailpipe, tearing the exhaust piping. Otherwise, it's had regular oil changes.

Worth $4000 to a ricer.

$1500 or under to you and me, if it's a stick.

I have a 96 DX coupe. You could replace the manifold with a aftermarket from a EX but this would require a cat for a EX as well. The 02 sensor cost like $90 for a Bosch. I paid $4800 for mine with 112k on it and a complete service record.

Well then, we'll see how much they want for it. I think that they plan on driving it until the inspection comes due, which is a couple months away. Oh, and it is a stick. Oddly enough, I have a Sparco hub for this vehicle, not sure where it came from, or why I have it, but I do...

I would say $2000-$2500 is reasonable depending on how much work needs to be done.
