The tail lights on my 98 f250 (light duty) just stopped working along with the dash lights. The brake lights still work and the headlights do too. I've checked all the fuses and they all seem good. Anyone have any advice? On a semi related note, I have the exact same problem in my 97 miata. I don't know what it is about me and tailights/ dash lights, but I'm not having any luck. Help with either would be appreciated.

Check the fuses again, usually all the running lights (parking lights, side markers, dash lights) are on one fuse. Headlights have their own fuses as they draw so much more current.

I went through all the fuses multiple time and even replaced them with known good ones. I'm pretty sure the front parking lights still work.
Double check the power at the bulbs themselves and backtrack from there. My gut feeling is a bad headlight switch.

Any other ideas? I'm sure it's not a headlight switch on the miata since for some reason the tailight were always on when the car was on before this problem regardless of the headlight switch position.
