I recently needed to change the headlight bulbs on my car and noticed that the headlight gaskets had turned into a crumbling sticky mess, I wanted to change them so I bought some from EBay and they don't fit at all.
The person selling the gaskets had this video showing how to install them, but the gaskets I actually received are much worse quality than shown in the video with mold flashing covering all the holes and they are very thin.
I tried to install them but the gasket ripped trying to stretch it over the "white clips" you can see in the video, and without clipping it over that part they won't fit back into the car, and with no gaskets at all the headlights don't fit tightly enough to not fall out. The comment on the video about the questionable quality of the gaskets is mine.
Are there any other ways to get the headlights to stay in without having the original gaskets on them? No way is spending $1478 x 2 on headlights for a $6k Boxster going to happen, so at this point I am seriously considering just getting some navy blue duct tape to (kind of) match the dark blue paint and taping them to the fenders but I feel like someone else must have had this problem and come up with a better fix than that.
