My dad has gotten his hands on a 2007 Cayman S that will be performing dual track/DD duty. His plan is to park it for the winter and take care of a few issues that it needs and have an almost perfect car by spring. We know there are plenty of DIYs online and he has been researching like crazy.  However, he still wants a true factory manual.  He is thinking of getting an All-Data subscription, but has also found those $19.95 ebay "factory service manual" DVDs.  They don't seem to be available from the dealer.

I want to have it so we know the proper torques for everything (the engineer in me) and I know ze Germans like to use a lot of torque-to-yield bolts, so we want to know which ones need replacing.

So does anyone have any leads?  Thanks!!!

I have on several occasions purchased the ebay digital "factory service manuals."  I have always felt ripped off.  Yeah, they send you something, but it has ranged from not the right year (or even generation) to a set of Mitchell on Demand extracts for common maintenance items.  I always wind up buying a real paper set of FSM's, usually used on ebay and have never been disappointed.

Oh, and with some super google-fu, I have almost always come up with a set of digital manuals for free that are way better than anything I ever got on ebay.  Be careful of the spammers out there with a pdf of a few K that is just an ad for their alledged digital manual.  If it isn't in the hundred megabyte range, it's not real.  And NEVER install their "downloader" to get access.  If you can't right click and Save As, it's a scam or worse.

Have you tried asking on a Porsche specific site like rennlist?  There's probably feedback there about the ebay manuals and other sources for manuals.

You'll need to log in to post.
