Checked out a '99 today for possible purchase. ~67,000 miles, as loaded as possible without being a 10AE. It's on it's second engine, since the first succumbed to the dreaded thrust bearing failure at 37,000 miles.

The problem that I don't know how to fix is the fact that the driver's window goes down maybe 6 inches and then stops with a clunk. Not sure how to fix this, and m.net seems to be down.

The rest I think that I have sorted:

Issues that I am seeing are front brake pads (they're VERY noisy and the car recently failed inspection for those and front calipers, I'll have to dig into the calipers so see if they are actually bad, since I trust the shop he took it to for inspection about as far as I can throw it under my current medical limit of 8 lbs). Dent in nose (partially hidden by the front plate) and passenger side fender(shop told him $1000 to fix both, so he already dropped the price accordingly. I'm thinking of first trying to knock it out, and then going the JY route.

There is a hesitation between 1800-2500 rpm, though since it has what look to be older Autoquest wires, I'm hoping new plugs and wires will sort that out. Oh, and the desire to shift into 5th from 2nd under hard acceleration. I believe that is motor mounts. Battery was dead when I went to test drive, he's willing to drop the price lower since he thinks it needs a new battery. I think that it sat for a month before the test drive, and the radio and other electronics dropped the voltage just enough.

Seats are a bit cracked, covers would be the first step there.

Thinking ot keep it as stock as possible, and go a bit crazy on my '97.

The car is black, with a black hard top, and I can likely pick it up for under Challenge money :)

Is a good series of videos on window/regulator repair (I'm assuming these are power). Maybe that will help give you an idea of what could be wrong?

Fixing the window won't be a challenge. Take the inner door panel off. See what the window is hitting. Deal with it.
