Have we discussed this? http://www.pisafierohq.com/rebody_kits/jalapeno/

Seems you could skip the 2700$ fiberglass and run it ugly. Ghettocet style.

Oddly, not much discussion of Kit Cars around here outside of Factory Five, The Catfish, Midlana and Exocet. At least none that didn't devolve into poking fun at the cars.

Considering the Fiero, like the later Saturns, have body panels that are removable, its a decent platform for re-body efforts.

The thing is you would need a Fiero to start with, and (at least in my area) they all disappeared years ago.

They are around here in PNW. Admittedly I don't think they are good unless you cut up the last year production car. Which would be sacrilege in fiero circles. I'm not a fan of them, but this would be cheap and easy. Skip the cosmetics and you're into it 950$ plus the car, which could be had free. Swap in a reliable motor. Add tires.

In reply to Trackmouse:

The 87's are just as good, with less rarity.

Also the earlier cars can be retrofitted with newer suspension bits thanks to their popularity in the Kit world and their parts-bin origins.

That said, I'd likely rather build an Exocet or a MidLana, but you can't get anywhere near those for $950.

An ACVW Baja could be had for cheap back in the day, but not so much these days. It would be potentially more capable offroad due to its suspension design and all of the development performed over the previous decades.

Yeah, noticed that too. Didn't know if it was a forum issue or on my end.

So, this interesting to me but I would not spend the money on a body kit (duh)... however this pic makes me want to build one in to a 'Mini me' DeLorean.

Because, you know... that makes sence.
