So I was replacing some sensors on my cousins Colorado (06, 2.8). Cam and crank position sensors were easy peasy.

My question is, how the hell do I get the 02 sensor off the manifold with that stupid effing heat shield in the way and why the effing hell did gm design it so it's impossible to get a wrench on it?

Same reason everybody else did. Now quit whining and get busy stripping the hex, then tearing out the threads, then replacing the manifold, then fixing the manifold studs, then...

I don't get paid enough to do all that.

The easy way is the gas cap trick.

Remove gas cap, roll newer truck under cap, replace gas cap.

FTFY. And sometimes you need a new gas cap too.

You need one of these probably-

I borrow one from a fellow tech every once in a while for MINIs with it set deep in a heat shield.

For installation you may need that. For removal, cut the wire and use whatever you need to in order to get on it. You may also need heat.

You'll need to log in to post.
