I enjoyed my Hero2 and Wifi with remote so much last year that when a friend bought a Hero2 unopened at an auction I bought it off of him. Figured I could record front view/back view of rallycross, or inside/outside views, at the same time.
I bought a WiFi backpack on Amazon cheap, just updated both the camera and backpack through Ciniform with minor issues (had to update the backpack through a computer port, not hub. Pretty sure that was an issue on the first one too.) But when I tried to pair the new setup with my old remote it never paired. I even went into the WiFi menu on the camera and told it to find a new remote vs current.
Had them in each hand, and the camera just timed out with "failed". Turned on the 1rst camera and it saw the remote no problems. Am I missing something?

Never mind. Google + GoPro website = answer. Duh.
Password issue, wasn't it?
Had the issue with my Hero3 2 days ago.

Actually no. I just didn't know I had to hold down the red button when turning on the remote to get it into pairing mode. I just tested out both cameras, both on one remote!
GoPro has an app for smartphones, to work with the WiFi. With it, you can see what the camera sees, delayed by a second or so. I always wrestle with getting mine paired, though. Seems I try to pair them in the wrong menu selection. Doh!
That's what I have been doing, Mini. I was trying to pair my tablet up. Apparently I had the wrong password...
I just picked up a Hero 3 to supplement my original (AAA battery-operated) camera. I can't wait to use it, but I didn't even think about how cool it would be to have synchronized video automatically by using one remote to operate both cameras. Too bad Hero 1 doesn't do wi-fi.
Have you guys done any super-cool/non-traditional mounting on your cars? In the mid-1990s, I saw a NASCAR race where they installed a camera under the car looking at the front suspension--it was really cool. I never saw it again, but I always wanted to replicate it.

I tried the app to see if it worked, but the wrist remote works 10x better for rallycross. Sitting at the start line I can just hit the start button and again at the end, with the field of view it's almost impossible to not get what you wanted.
