So, gm3400 v6. With remote thermostat, because challenge car.

I have a mechanical water temp and oil pressure gauges to add in.

Problem is that i cant seem to find anywhere to add them.

Oil pressure i can t the factory hole for the low oil pressure kill solenoid, won't be pretty, but should work unless someone has a better solution.

Water temp: im stumped. The ecm sensor is tn the manifold next to the factory thermostat. Other than block drains, tueres no spare port.

I thought about getting something inline on the upper hose, but i am concerned that the upper hose may not be an accurate point due to the remote thermostat.

Ideas?

Regardless where you connect it in, if it's at all bulky, I highly recommend remote-mounting it. That's because at certain rpms, everything resonates, including heavy sensors cantilevered off threaded adaptors. There are many stories of them snapping off and ruining your day.

Its a standard sunpro bulb style sender eith a capillary tube.

Would the block drains be a bad idea?

Oooooo

I have a 5/8 hose bypassing the heater core circuit. Comes out of the wayer pump, and goes back in at the factory thermostat housing area, just behind where the thermostat would live.

Would that be a good one?

As long as it sees hot water/coolant and is in the "flow" (i.e. not stagnant) it should work. I know it's a challenge build, but you could get one of those adapters that go in the upper radiator hose, too, like this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Billet-Inline-Thermostat-Housing-with-Bypass-or-sensor-Port-For-1-1-2-Hose-1-5-/162600036184

ETA: You can find a lot cheaper ones than that, just an example. I've seen them for ~$10 for Chinese ones.

ETA2: I see you've considered that already. I wouldn't worry too much about accuracy since it's still inline in the upper hose, and in the flow. You might see a COUPLE degrees difference, but not so much that you can't determine an overheating situation.

Hmmm...  mine is in the stock thermostat housing.  I wonder what I did with the stock sensor?

For the oil pressure, and temp, I got a block that bolts on between the oil filter and block with 2 ports.  Cheap on eBay.

Good call on sandwich plate. Ill have to see if i have roomin the budget.

Id also like to know what you did with the sensor! Ecm needs it.....

As far as the thermostat housing with a sensor for inline, i was worried that it may not give a good indication of actual water temp. I have been trying to think of a way to drill and tap the housing i made (black flanged tube in picture. Thin steel thermostat housings from a dodge ram 5.2. Im sure theres a way to get the npt brass water temp fitting in there, but should i?

I wouldn't try and tap that. I don't see why an inline sensor would be any less accurate- especially if you put it before the thermostat (flow wise). If your thermostat opens at 180* then that coolant is going to be 180* just like it would if it was inside the engine block.

I had one of those upper radiator hose adaptors in an LT1 after the original sender in the head snapped in half. It worked well and should theoretically be the place where coolant is hottest, right after it leaves the engine to go through the radiator. The ECM didn't notice anything. I think it was like 15 bucks on Amazon.

That's what my buddy said too.  I guess I'll go back to the wiring diagrams, Chase down the wires and see where the berk I put it....
