2002 GTI with Audi TT control arms.  The sway bar links 'almost' line up.  In normal life I would use rod ends and make the end links.  Trying to minimize the budget hit, what are the cheap ways to make an adjustable end link?

Modify standard links into adjustable?

Edit: I wouldn't worry about the strength of these at all either. A lot of modern cars come with very flimsy-looking plastic sway bar links.

They don't need to be adjustable, they just need to be adjusted.  You could do something like cut the long one and weld it or use a larger fastener in an offset hole, or possible move the mount on the control arms.

I don't have a challenge car, so this is just curiosity...

I have a big coffee can full of used rod ends from my f500. They aren't broken or seized, just too worn for use on mission critical suspension links on a roadrace formula car. What would fmv look like on that?

Just cut it in half, thread it and put a turn buckle in the middle?
