So for this build, I've limited myself to only Aeroquip lines and fittings for the plumbing, to give this project the best possible chance. My fuel lines are all Aeroquip teflon, oil is Aeroquip AQP. I got around to doing the oil lines, ordered two -10 90s and I was appalled at what I got... I've had Summit fittings, Russel, no name Chinese stuff, and it was all great quality. So now I pay a premium for the original and greatest and... this is pretty pathetic (pic may not be clear but the hard line 90 on both fittings looks like a frowny forehead)

Has anyone seen this before? I got the fittings from Summit, not Bob's ebay store, they're real... I'll be exchanging these obviously but if the replacements come like this too, I may rethink this brand whoring.
so what, exactly, is the issue? will they still do the job they were designed to do?

As in partially kinked?
(I've never used any, just asking)
I don't see the issue either?

I can't have a good look inside, I think there's casting funkiness there too but the pipe looks like it was molded by hand, piss poor casting. Like I said I've had same size Russel fittings, which are supposed to be 2nd rate, and even Chinese no names, and they were all perfectly cast. This is supposed to be the original nut/cutter AN fitting company, the best of the best, and the price reflects it. The quality it seems, does not. I sure hope it's just a bad batch I ran into.
Yeah, they'll probably do their job, but that's not what I paid for. I can pay half as much for a Chinese hose end that will probably do the job. This is supposed to be aerospace/racing quality gear. I've never used Aeroquip before, their Teflon stuff lived up to the reputation but these hose ends look sad even for a knockoff.
Every company has a bad batch now and then: slips by quality control. A nice, calm conversation with those pics fwd to them might get you new fittings PDQ! Worth a shot.

Yeah Summit seems to be very understanding, gave me a UPS label to ship them back and will send out a new batch.
My concern is with the general state of quality from this company. More and more manufacturers are outsourcing to China and a once top notch quality manufacturer is slipping up more and more (like JE). If no one's ever had a bad quality part from Aeroquip then that would be reassuring to me. But if others have seen issues recently as well, then maybe I should switch to Earl's.
It's not a cast part, so there is no casting funkiness.
I'm not seeing the problem.
