So I'm planning on doing some upgrading to the '71 CB750 this winter, and if I don't decide to upgrade the charging system, I'm going to need all the amps I can get for the EFI. I'm going to need an LED headlight. So far the cheapest thing I've found is around $200. Anyone know of a cheaper source? Or a way to make one?

No. Give the market time; prices will continue to drop.
Was this meant for the Sprockets forum? Sorry I'm no help but since I built a really cool '74, I'm listening!
The Truck Lite $200 7" is going to be the cheapest and best. You can get a 35 watt H4 style bulb, but that's not near as good a solution.
Another option is I can get a universal 7" headlight housing that takes an H4 bulb, and they make an LED replacement H4 that is very, very cheap on ebay. Anyone know if those are worth a crap?
Yeah I know. They are crap. I've got 2 of them on the shelf. They are not quite as bright as a 35W H4 bulb and there is no difference between high and low beam. None.

I actually completely forgot about the sprockets forum, but a lot of cool old sports car use the same headlight, so I think it's still somewhat appropriate here.

I know my miata has been watching the prices come down... and is waiting for a good price/quality point to coincide.
Judging by the answers, looks like this forum is as good as any!
I'd look into making one. I'm gonna see if its been done before...
