Right now I'm looking for a fairly new Jeep Wrangler and prices are crazy. I came close to buying a couple that had around 135k on them. But I don't need to put a ton of miles on the one that I will eventually buy, so knowing that they will reliably get to 135k has me looking at others in the 105k range.

I refuse to buy rusty cars.

The current issue with Jeep Wranglers are that it is likely cheaper to just buy a new one.  Locally(dealer in Atlanta I ordered my gladiator from) I can order a new one for 7% under invoice or pay the same for one with 85k miles.

I'm starting to investigate this now, but the original plan was to keep it under $20k. That's looking difficult for anything with the Pentastar engine (2012+) and not a boatload of miles.

the closest dealer to you that does the under invoice is Chapman's Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM in Horsham, PA contact the user dealerinsider on any of the jeep forums, he is the internet sales guy for them.

I see nothing stock(read not modded to crap) that is 12+ and under $25k that has less than 100k miles.

But condition is the main thing i would look for in a vehicle.

Having owned a couple vehicles that seem to shake off mileage easily ('79 Scout 345 w/4 speed that we put almost 400k tough miles on in 10 years, and my current '98 12 valve Cummins with 282k) both with essentially zero engine work during their lives, the answer is both mileage and age. Even perfect maintenance means all the gaskets, seals, interior, door locks and hinges, random suspension bushings, etc have been subjected to usage and sunlight, oil, etc.. Both of these vehicles end up in the death by a thousand cuts situation. Both still going strong but nowhere near a new vehicle. Jcamper
