Cross Posting this from Corner-Carvers to get more eyes on the target.
Jim Black's maroon/burgundy 4th Gen Firebird was stolen from his Castro Valley CA driveway late last night/early this morning. It was strapped to a Sloan Quik Load trailer.

A suspect was arrested late Thursday after leading police on a wild high-speed chase through several East Bay cities, according to the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department.
The chase began in Pittsburg where police attempted to pull over a pickup truck and the driver fled, Contra Costa County Sheriff's Lt. David Hartman said. The pursuit then went into Antioch, back to Pittsburg and onto state Highway 4 where the suspect drove in the wrong direction at speeds of up to 90 mph.
Hartman said he then went onto state Highway 242 and finally onto Interstate Highway 680.
Contra Costa County Sheriff's deputies and California Highway Patrol officers joined the pursuit along the way.
Spike strips were deployed twice, once in Pittsburg and later on I-680 by CHP officers, Hartman said.
"Towards the end of the pursuit the guy was pretty much rolling on rims," Hartman said.
The chase finally ended in the unincorporated area of Alamo, south of Walnut Creek, when the suspect stopped the truck, got out and put his hands up.
CHP officers had taken over the case at that point, and took the suspect into custody. No further information about the suspect was immediately available.
glad to hear the car was recovered.
personally, I never figured out why people run. They almost always get caught and then get slammed into the ground by a dozen cops, put on TV where everyone can see their horrible driving, and then get heavier sentences and infractions because they ran.
Better to just pull over and stick your hands out the window to get cuffed
Does it seem like most of these car chases like this happen out west? I don't hear about a lot of high speed chases in Ohio...
I wish there were a school or an attraction where I could take part in a fake car chase. Cars caged, get to pick sides, everyone paired with a stunt car driver. I think I'd happily pay $10,000 to do this for a day. That's why I think this happens.
that would be fun, Derick.. I would pay money to get pitted by a cop
May the thief burn in hell after Bubba has a few nights with him. Glad the cars OK.
I don't know all the details but once they caught this guy it led them to the car and trailer. A Lot more details over on CC with photos of the Perp.
You can not make this stuff up. This is a photo of the perp. At least he got the proper hat on.

They can't take cops on a high-speed chase when they won't go over the speed limit.
