Alfa GTV6 Build thread

I have the bodywork done, but have not had time to get to the mechanicals yet.

Rustedbusted, Gearhead and Beans joined me to get a start on the mechanicals today, we had intentions of getting the timing belt, tensioner and water pump changed out.

Aaron knows this car he did the belt swap last time.

Bob and I got the radiator out yesterday in preparation.

We got the covers, valve covers and belt off pretty easy but one of the tensioner bolts found and fought us. Eventually my guy Bob came to our rescue and made us all feel like the idiots we are.

The bolt is a stud that is m10x1.25 on one end and m8x1.25 on the other, what a pain in the ...

We also managed to remove and destroy another stud by being daft and thinking it was the one we wanted out.

Tomorrow I find a replacement for each...

Did you do the cam seals too? Its pretty easy with the belt off. I'd recommend not touching the crank seal unless its leaking badly though, its very hard to change.
