Just read an online article from "brand X" saying that due to the financial crisis in Europe, Alfa's return to the U.S. is pushed back another 6 months. The first cars are now scheduled to hit showrooms in the middle of 2013 (nearly 2 years from now). The first cars will be the smaller/cheaper Alfas, like the MiTo. The Guilietta will hopefully make it a few months later, then the plan is to get another sedan or two into showrooms in 2014.
The Alfa SUV, based on the Jeep Liberty and built in the U.S. has been axed.
In related news, there are 130 Fiat dealers (I didn't know that until I read the article) and it's expected that about 100 of those dealers will also be selling Alfas.
It's been 2 years out since they stopped selling cars here in '95.

Lucy pulls the football again. Is there a single person in this country who still takes a run at it?

The MiTo is a Fiat in disguise anyway, right?
That may delay the Dodge version of the Giulietta as well.

Alfa-Romeo has cried wolf so many times I don't even pay attention to them anymore. We've got BMWs so who needs Alfas anyhow?
I will keep taking a run at it if it means I can get one of these!!!!
One of the few times I agreed with Mr Clarkson's review of a car. It is "Art"

Well, that isn't all he said. He said it is art because art is supposed to have no other purpose and that is lucky for Alfa because this is a crap car.
Ya but I would be happy just looking at it every morning in the driveway
Actually just put a c5 chassis under it problem solved.

I still want one. I would buy an Alfa any day over a BMW.

Whenever I hear that some amazing supercar is actually rubbish to drive, I always wonder, how bad can it be, really?

Probably not very bad at all. He was just as hard on the Alfa as he is on Corvettes. So it probably compares favorably to a Z06.
I saw a FIAT add on TV last night. Mostly JLo.
I see Alfas alot around here.

So long as they don't put the ugly Dodge nose on them.

I actually saw a new alfa down here in Southern NJ this past week. I didn't get a chance to see what model it was.. but it was some sort of hatch (It was going the other way)
