Disagree with Mike Trueba, MPT. Do not 'play chemist' by adding zinc. Oil engineers know what they are doing in creating the proper ingredient formulations, and you shoild second-guess them. For street cars requiring a higher zinc content, use an oil such as Driven HR6, Castrol Classic GTX, Lucas Hot Rod & Classic, and others.

Please do not use the "rat540 blog" as a benchmark for this - this is simply not a test that can be attributed to how a motor oil will behave in your auto's engine. He won't show the euqipment or detail the testing procedure and it sounds like a version of a "one-armed bandit" test which has been shown to not be relevent for ICE lubrication testing.
