there's a new race track opening an hour north of me within the next year, and these look to be a pretty much bulletproof race car for Miata money. y'all suck :P

I'm bumping this thread on the off chance that someone might know where I can find an available chassis.
There are.a few for sale on racing junk.com. one for $3000 with blown head gasket...another complete for $3600.

I get confused with peoples avatars and names changing, plus I haven't been spending nearly as much time here as I used to, but where/when/why did SF1 vanish?

It wasn't long after I joined, I had some Miata talks with him, I remember. Last I heard (I think it was from mndsm) was that he was "taking a break from the internet." He's still around and talks to some forum members in real life, just not active on here. I know there was a plan to send him a card signed by all the forum members to get him to return but not sure if it ever happened.
We don’t have these cars up here instead we have these the baby grand race cars they use a Yamaha xjr1300 engine.
After reading the article about the autocross "Jeep" built on an Allison chassis, I find myself daydreaming about sticking Spridget bodywork on there. The easy way to build a tube-framed vintage racecar lol.

Time was, back when, i was the #2 overall poster on Allpar forums which had 10k users at the time. I made a similar decision to scale WAY back on internet use for a variety of personal reasons. Certain people i would talk to in other ways. Around that time my grandmother passed on, and since people were asking what happened to me and a couple of people knew i lost a relative, a story kinda got made up to fill that void that the death had deeply affected me. Not that i didn't care, but it just wasn't like that. I would say if anyone here is curious, a minor amount of effort would probably get you in contact with the actual human being in question, and who knows what strange side effects would arise from that more personal level of contact. Friendship, even? Scary!
Nowadays i moderate my internet use mostly by having given up on facebook.

I actually took a drive across the continent this summer to visit SF1 and clean out his remaining stock of GD/F2T parts. He's still doing Miata things. He's around.

Based on the information I have, it was a combination of things. The execution death of the Escort project, general malaise at the job industry, and being tired of people on the internet as well. He's very much alive, and still has my challenge car.
