Its on ESPN 2 (the one on the moving picture box) tomorrow at 5PM, and this time its a 2 hour broadcast for a 100 minute race, rather than a 12 hour one. You...do at least have cable right?

Got cable with ALL the channels and will use it. I'm not using my computer to watch races, it's not the same.
I didn't see it when I did a search on Dish so I'll go search again.
BTW I'm not the only one with an aversion to having to take special pains to watch a TV show. ALMS will rue this year of non coverage. They are in a critical time in their life with Rolex under their new Nascar overlords trying to take over the world. They can't afford this year off (in most people's eyes).
ESPN 2 while it is TV, it is not mainstream TV so many people will decided ALMS has died this year or think it is in it's death throes which will make upcoming sponsorship tough.
You do know you can take an HDMI cable to most tv's these days, and broadcast stuff off your computer onto your tv, right?
Do you also know that ALMS isn't on SPEED, cause they don't wanna have to PAY to be on SPEED? Seems that since Grand-Am is owned by NASCAR, and SPEED is the NASCAR channel, they want to make it difficult for ALMS. But you just keep right on blaming ALMS...
Yeah, ESPN2 has way more viewers than SPEED, plus its in the normal channel scanning range. Directtv has SPEED and VS in the 600s, right above the Hustler and Playboy package (I'm not making this up...)

I've never blamed ALMS I simply pointed out the consequences of their actions. I realize the Nascar/Grand Am/Speed connection as I pointed out in my original post.
As far as connecting my computer to my TV, it's not convenient. I can't keep it hooked up all the time and I seldom watch anything at the time it's broadcast due to that wonderful invention called DVR. I love being able to FF thru commercials and watching multiple episodes back to back at my convenience. Not wanting to watch in real time and the inability to record so that I can watch at my convenience is a real problem to me for the ALMS. I'm betting it's a real problem for anything that requires extra effort to watch.
Then there's the issue of planning ahead of time to be able to get the computer moved and hooked up prior to the start of the show. Nope, not gonna happen. I'm not alone and that's going to be an issue for ALMS.
Did my search for ALMS Long Beach on Direct TV and it shows "no matching programs" so when is ALMS supposed to be on? Anyone know what channel is ESPN2 on Direct?
Quick Google search for ESPN2 schedule brings up this http://espn.go.com/espntv/onair/index?start=4-17-11-1:03-PM
I can remember a time when the Indy 500 was tape delayed. I'll take live event coverage any day.
espn2 is channel 209 on directtv, right next to the other ESPN channels. Its on tomorrow at 5PM, listed simply as "auto racing" on the guide, so "ALMS" wont get you a match.
On ESPN3 online, all programs are available after the live event on-demand. You can fast forward, rewind, pause, etc. just like with a DVR.

I guess I jinxed him. Massive lock up into turn eight, smacks the outside wall mere moments after taking over the lead. They were definitely in contention for the win.
Poor luck. Better next time!
Scott Sharp didn't help matters much. Bimmers are still class of the field. Flying Lizard hit the MAGIC SET-UP on Long's car. Don't see how the Porsche's got to drop weight, but the Vette's didn't.
BMW M3s have two wins from two races in ALMS GT and 2 wins from three races in Grand AM. Good start to the season if you ask me.
Scott Sharp really screwed that up for the leaders, very unprofessional.
The Vettes did better than the Porsches at Sebring. Flying Lizard was still slower than both BMW and one Corvette in quali. I think the weight drop was the right move. (well, the racer in me says that Porsche should build a better car...)
What on Earth was wrong with Scott Sharp today? Has he really been out of the saddle that long? OTOH, that Joey Hand move was the reason I watch these guys!! Condolences to Pat..man, I haven't seen him do something like that in a loooooong time. The Red Mist lives, dangit.
Aside to carguy123: I'm not gonna jump on ya for dissing the coverage (I actually heard what you were saying in the thread where we were discussing it the other time). I hate it for ya, man. And hope your local companies get some infrastructure in there soon.

Thank you. Recorder in place. For some reason only one of the ESPN channels was showing.
Thanx for the info on the on-demand aspect of ESPN3, but I'm still not going to watch racing or anything TV on my computer. It's just not the same thing at all. Kinda like watching first run movie at home on the TV vs at the big screen theater. While you still get the same info the ambiance is not the same.
Got to watch the race on a new desktop as the old one crapped a couple of weeks ago. Yea for the technology upgrades though.
The GT race was awesome even if Pat Long proved he is really human. And Joey Hand had it all today. His third-to-first pass should make every highlight list for the season. Simply awesome!
Sure hope the prototype field fills-out for the next event. I even care if they're all LMPC's; they are better looking and sounding than the DP's
Actually, having seen both LMPC's and DP's in person, they sound nearly the same. Both are powered by large bore V8's.
Ground pounding FTW!
They do look better though. (hopefully that will be addressed next season with the rules changes...)
That GT race was one for the ages. What a race! This is what sports car racing is all about! I was jumping up and down, yelling at the TV, clenched fists and frazzled hair! I bet my neighbors hate me right now! LOL!

I just remind them that they do the same damn thing during football season..
I dunno......screw this watching it online crap, TV or in person for me. Grand Am, BTCC, FIA GT (those two because I HAVE TO watch online....would be berkeleying wonderful if there was berkeleying coverage) but yeah those three for the win for me, screw the rest
You think FIA GT is good racing? That crap is boring as hell. Seriously, go watch the long beach race on Americanlemans.com when it is available. That was the most exciting GT race I have ever seen. BAR NONE!
GT1-Maserati MC12, Lamborghini RS-V, Chevy C6R, Aston Martin DBR9, Ford GT-R, Nissan GT-R
GT3-Audi R8, BMW Z4, Ford GT, Mercedes SLS, Lamborghini Gallardo, Corvette, Maserati Gran Turismo, BMW Aplina M6,
GT2-Ferrari 458 and 430, Porshe RSR, BMW M3, Lamborghini Gallardo, Jaguar XKR, Aston Martin DBRS9, Panoz
i'm most likely missing one, how is that boring? I never had a boring race watching one of those. I guess to each their own.... "go watch the long beach race....when it's available" I mean seriously??? it's come to that for the AMERICAN series massive facepalm
Only Grand Am and BTCC actually because I don't see the FIA series and Intercontinental and ELMS as much
I mean, yes it was a good race and it was crazy in the GT class, which at least to me is all that matters, but I just think the fact it's not live and online just sucks the excitement out totally

It was available LIVE, and still is available on demand on ESPN3, but you already said you don't want to watch it on that venue. the Free to everyone on the series site isn't up until after the TV broadcast this afternoon.
Grow up and watch real racing. OH NOES, ITS ON THE INTERNET. ITS INCONVENIENT. Wah wah wah.
Oh, and The Most Interesting Man In The World told me to tell you "Touring Car Racing is for Bob Costas!"
LeMons and GRM Challenge is real racing but how is the GT class in ALMS manlier than the FIA or ELMS or ILMS GT classes??? and no it's not THAT convienent, turn your tv on...coverage. not everyone has fast internet or awesome computers that's all i'm saying. In Europe they cater to the the fans of the EUROPEAN racing series by putting it on TV. We have an AMERICAN race series and full coverage not even on TV???
and as for Touring Cars, that's funny but I have yet to see better racing than Touring Car in the 90's and with the new NGTC rules, it's actually quite exciting
hey you can say all you want and make cracks at me but guess what, I don't care haha
