I'd be happy to see them succeed just to have someone out there not regurgitating the same old aero-blob design for the trillionth time. I don't know if there's enough hype left after Tesla for something really novel to get up and going (especially in this economoy) but I'll be rooting for them.
Rivian was just given a 2 year extension to meet their obligations for development and job creation at their new facility. The media spin is that this is because of construction delays related to neighboring lawsuits.
Its true that there have been lawsuits, but the project is not behind schedule.
I think the real reason is that someone is recognizing they may not be able to develop the expansion and job creation as fast as they had hoped with the current economic conditions and sales slowing.
