Mercedes S-class.
No sporting pedigree, expensive, PITA to work on, heavy, no manual.

Yeah cause they are pretty much impossible to find, at least where I live. I can safely say I haven't seen one for sale in the past 5 years, at least. I did see ONE when I was looking for a small car. It had lowerish miles (just under 100k iirc) and someone wanted like $3500 for it even though it needed a bit of work and had some rust. yeah right.

I say this about Hondas. HATE the damn things. Tempted to get a job as a parts monkey at a Honda dealer so I won't ever be tempted to buy anything.

You be nice to the Diamante. I know of at least ONE running around with a DOHC headswap and TT's off a 3kGT vr4. Said timing it was a bitch, but it's one of the most fun things he's ever built.
In reply to mndsm:
I figured if people were gonna gripe about anything on my list it would've been the Malibu. Go figure.
I don't think there is an answer because no matter how bad the car, it just means you start from further and you will get more awesome points for making something cool.
For example, if someone could make a Tempo cool, they would get all the more respect from me.
someone had a tempo they used to take to the local rallycross stuff out where I lived. It may not be a ferrari but that doesn't mean you can't do fun grassroots motorsports things in it. some of them were awd. if that doesn't scream hooning potential I dont know what does. 80's inconspicuous E36 M3 box + awd + turbo = awesome? its a proven formula...
1st generation Ford escort. I had 1 for a rental & school buses would beat it off the line at stoplights.

Great for my Cadavalier to SLAUGHTER!

I have actually had many of the cars listed in this thread and others listed here I have lusted after. What makes this place cool is the tolerance for the "uncool". I really think that this thread is a wast of time. It is a negatively oriented thread that is finding the bad in things. One of the things I really like about this place is that no matter what type of car you post up about people seem to find the positive or at very least hold there tongue if they find disdain for the ride you post about.
bravo!

Which brings up a good question: If you cannot kill them, why did you need 5?
ReverendDexter wrote: In reply to Chris_V: That's a Cobra II, not a Mach 1.
You could do the same to a Mach 1. Only real difference is the stripes.
here's a convertible version with some other mods to make it proportional:
I have a soft spot for MIIs

1st gen Escort, really.
RWD, 1600BDA engine, so much awesome and rally victories up the wazoo
(Yeah I know he meant to US one but this is the 1st gen)

Same here, but FWD Celica in my case. I recommended them and recommended them until i was blue in the face, nobody really has anything bad to say about them, only good things.
And none of you bastards will buy one.
Now... i buy this utter piece of E36 M3 of an MX6, and now half the board is rabid for them. Hell, mndsm bought one, and there's more people looking.
I don't get it. YOU'RE ALL DUMB. THE CELICA IS A BETTER CAR.
OK, I think I've got two good candidates. I'm a Honda fan, but unfortunately there's one that'll make my list. First, honorable mention to the Lincoln Blackwood.
Really...what's the point of this thing??
Second would be anything that looks like this. Don't know when I could see myself recommending one. Back seat headroom is now gone, no real trunk room to speak of. Why build such a thing?? I'm talkin' to you Honda, MB, BMW, VW...
^I think that Nissan abomination may be the anti-answer...with no solid roof it can't be used for back 40 / demo derby

Nothing new here, move along
I don't see any relation between the Ramcharger and the Murano 'vert other than they're both topless.

Waitaminnit...

My parents ordered a Navy blue on Navy blue1986 98 Regency Brougham with every factory option when I was a little guy. I was there when we ordered it, and when we picked it up. It had the digital "Castlevania Life Bar" dash, an in-dash caculator (wow!!!), and it talked!!! When I was a kid, it was like getting chauffeured in a space ship. It was a great car and we had it for years.
When I became of driving age, I remember driving it a few times when my '64 Skylark was broken. It was super floaty and I hated the thin rimmed steering wheel, but it could vaporize those skinny whitewalls when I mashed the pedal. It was also unstoppable in the snow.
I can't imagine it was good for anything but cruising around and being a reliable daily driver, but it was cool in an 80's luxury sort of way.
