Beretta?
My first car (first one that I actually owned myself, at least) was a slowpoke '88 slushbox Beretta, and I bought dirt cheap and fixed up an early-90's GTZ with the HO Quad-4 and a 5-speed as a grad present for my little brother. The GTZ was a lot of fun to drive in pretty much stock form, and honestly I rather liked he styling on them (if you ignored the huge, heavy doors...).
Citation......... especially the early models with that very uncomfortable tendency to lock up the rear brakes........
I should add- for me, it would never be an Aerostar (family's late-80's Aerostar went through 3 transmissions under warranty, and when the 4th went out we traded it in on a Voyager...) or a Renault Alliance. I had to learn to drive on that piece of crap, and to this day it remains the WORST clutch I've ever had to deal with...

Perfect example of what Dean was talking about..I love old Japanese cars. I'd rock an F10, the problem is finding one that hasn't returned to the Earth.
I wish I still had my B210. Practically gave it away to a club buddy's son and he wrapped it around a light pole.
B's-unite! I had the Honey Bee version....and wish I still had it.

Mercedes S-class.
No sporting pedigree, expensive, PITA to work on, heavy, no manual.
Sticking with my answer.

Looks to me like a backyard demo derby juggernaut!

Hmm. Three Pedal Mafia's Rolls crapcan racer project plus that photo puts ideas in my head..
I'm not sure where I'm catching hell as Mr. Mean Old Feelings Hurter because I have the audacity to say that some cars are just plain terrible. Think about it. Saabs with the 3.0 V6. Cadillac Catera, Cimarron, 8-6-4 cars. Benzes of the self-recycling wiring era and the ML-series. These are all vehicles with pretty much NO upside even through a GRM lens. The idea was to establish a list of vehicles that should be avoided at all costs, period. And if I'm too much of a Negative Nancy for saying that nobody should ever be cursed to work on or own a Saab 9000 V6, basically defending the indefensible, then this forum has REALLY lost its way.

I drove one of these for a summer. My dad said "If you can get it running, you can have it", as it had been sitting in a field for nearly 5 years.
Probably one of the scariest cars I've ever driven. Didn't even flush the brake fluid...

You sir, are wrong. I would drive the hell out of that. Not fast, but drive it I would.
Here's one for you. I hate these with a burning passion that knows no bounds. This is NOT THE ANSWER!!
The most horribly vehicle ever produced by man. Brought to you by Nissan.

Nancy, don't sweat it, it's a fun topic so far.

I spent a summer delivering pizzas in one of those things. For a delivery vehicle, they weren't so bad.
Still no Cimarron enthusiasts. Woody is winning.

I spent one summer fighting the most expensive, worthless, complicated, miserable excuse for a carburetor. I still have the 5 custom bent wrenches it takes to get the damn thing off. I never did get it right and a rebuilt carburetor was like $600 so I sold it to someone I hated.

Same here, but FWD Celica in my case. I recommended them and recommended them until i was blue in the face, nobody really has anything bad to say about them, only good things.
And none of you bastards will buy one.
Now... i buy this utter piece of E36 M3 of an MX6, and now half the board is rabid for them. Hell, mndsm bought one, and there's more people looking.
I don't get it. YOU'RE ALL DUMB. THE CELICA IS A BETTER CAR.
I picked one up actually after my last what car thread. But the truth is i am ambivalent about it. I have standard bolts ons i/e and rsb, but I don't really love it. Performance/$ ratio is high and it loves to be beat on, lift is addicting, but I live in a pretty congested area and rarely get to enjoy it. I also miss the double wishbones on the integra. Make no mistake the gt-s is faster in every way but something is missing. (it could also be that its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow type deal)

Do you have a 3S-GE powered GT-S or one of the later 5S-FE powered cars? The latter handle better, but I wish Toyota had put just about any other engine in there.

What makes this place great is that there is no correct answer to this. And more importantly everyone here is tolerant of the wide variety of cars that people have here. I have actually had many of the cars listed in this thread and others listed here I have lusted after. What makes this place cool is the tolerance for the "uncool".
I really think that this thread is a wast of time. It is a negatively oriented thread that is finding the bad in things. One of the things I really like about this place is that no matter what type of car you post up about people seem to find the positive or at very least hold there tongue if they find disdain for the ride you post about.
bravo!
Don't bring your negative energy into the tournament, man!
Really though, any car where all the pixels don't work is a loser in my book.

I figured if people were gonna gripe about anything on my list it would've been the Malibu. Go figure.
Heck no. If we're talking late 90s, early 00s, a diamante is 2-3 times the car a malibu is. Easier to work on, more reliable, faster, better looking, etc.

I should clarify that I mainly try to get people to buy the 4th, 5th, and 6th gen cars. I like the 7th gens, but performance aside, I feel like the earlier ones are better for normal street things.
