I just read that the price of aluminum has plummeted (6 month ago it was $1.40 a pound, now around $.83 about the same price a 5 years ago), reduced demand from China or something, so prices may be changing in the near future.

I was going to suggest your local Home Depot, but then I saw that you wanted 8 foot lengths. They aren't the cheapest, but they are easy to come by.

Go to your local sign shop! they have it in 12 foot lenghts and all sorts of slip on and pop rivet conectors.

There are some pretty good looking racks out there made from EMT (Light conduit).

Super cheap, you can grind off the galvanizing to weld and or use connectors for some joints. A cheap conduit bender will give you some nice bends too.
