Seriously. F250. It felt quick and it sounded good (to me). Am I wrong? I don't know what kind of engine is in it. I think it was a big one. I liked it. I floored it every chance I got.

So I plan on renting one for the next challenge. My rental bill should be well under $2,017. I suppose that means I will win.

Did we ever get an official answer on the rental rules? I heard threats of someone renting a Ferrari or something dumb...

If you rent it, get the insurance and total it all for under 2017 including deductible, then you bought it right?

Home Depot F250s have the 5.4L and 5R110 transmission.

Good luck in the autocross

If rental class then price should factor into the points somehow. If you can find one of those old sonatas with the V6 I hear those make for pretty fast rental cars

3-4 years ago some of us got froggy and ran our own "Tow rig challenge". I cant remember the details, but there was at least a Dodge Durango on the autocross course being pushed much harder than a sane person would ever consider.

Whenever someone brings up a Dodge Durango doing something inappropriate, I remember my buddy's dad slightly overcooking the entry angle for the Timmies drive through and accidentally grinding the rear bumper on the retaining wall. First time anyone there has seen a Durango powersliding through the drive-through.

If you could do all of that and buy it back...maybe.
