Could an AWD Gremlin be constructed using Eagle parts? I would be interested in something like that. A cursory Google search did not bring up anything, but this seems too obvious to have not been thought of.

An AMC Spirit SX4 would probably be a better donor, since it was based on the Gremlin platform. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMC_Spirit

You mean this?

They called it the Eagle Kammback IIRC. Found an old Hemmings article here http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/tag/amc-eagle-kammback/

I don't think that I've ever seen one of those, except in pictures. Only made for 2 years,a few thousand the first, and only 500ish in the second year. Truly a unicorn, albeit not a very handsome one.

I prefer the 390" V8 4 speed Gremlin

I worked at an AMC store when those were new. We only sold one of those, and it had a 4 cylinder. Iron Duke, I think.

What manual transmission did they use in the awd Eagles? T-5? What transfer case did they use? Did it have a center differential?

There's one of those parked at an old AMC dealership near my house. No plate on it but it looks complete.
