So, I happened to need some 5/8" AN flared tubing. I ordered some tubing and flare nuts from Summit along with the tool their website recommended - only to find that the tool doesn't work on anything larger than 1/2", and most of the tools I've seen for flaring 5/8" tubing with a 37 degree flare have been in the $200 range. Any ideas on ones with better pricing? Harbor Freight tools appear to be in the 45 degree range instead.

I used compression fittings when I had this problem.  I was even willing to spend the money, but the big problem was that I plain couldn't find a tool that would flare stainless.

I know a lot of folks don't like compression fittings, but I haven't had any issues.

Compression fittings might work if I can get an adapter to an AN O-ring type fitting that's on the turbo.

Like HFmaxi said the Rigid 377 is a quality tool for this. I've done Cunifer, Steel and Stainless with it no problem.

I've had this one for years from McMaster

What type of tubing are you using Mat?

Just aluminum, so no need for a tool that can flare stainless or even regular steel.
