I've narrowed my choices to 205 50 15 versions of the Nitto NT01 and Falken RT615k+. For my track toy 83 GTI former ITC racecar. Picked up some 15 x 7 Koenig cheap. Both are treaded in the event of wetness and not wanting two sets of rubber. Which would you choose? Discount Tire Direct has them close in price including rebates and I have their card which allows me to pay off over time interest free.

Having owned the early Falken rt615's and having a buddy I trust tell me how awful the Nitto NT01s are, I would highly recommend the Falkens.
At a lemons race I had an top running A class team tell me they decided not to even try for a win because the NT01s they brought were so bad they knew they couldn't compete.
I've personally never been impressed with the Falkens, but I'm always at least one generation behind. The NT01 is basically a shaved RA1. So thats what I'd be using.

I don't recall hearing much that was all that bad about the NT01 besides that they need to be heated up. Are they that bad?
AFAIK, the RT615K+ is the same compound as the ZII star spec, so they should be good provided the casing is stiff enough, etc.

I did not know this. I won't be autocrossing this car so getting them up to temp won't be a problem either.

Are NT01s even legal for lemons?

No, but NT05s are, and they are not very competitive
How about the new contental extreme contact sports? Just put some on my Miata and Andy Hollis just reviewed them well.
The hankook rs4 is faster than anything listed above and last very long.
If this is a fun car, trackday car or time trial car, I wouldn't consider anything else on the market right now.
I'm limited to whatever is available at Discount Tire Direct.
So, in modern BMW M3 and P-car land, the NT-01 actually has something of a fan base. But speaking from experience, they quickly wear down to the point that the tread is useless in moderate rain. Hydroplane city.
I don't know anything about the Falken.
In that size, the best dry/rain combo tire I've tried is the Advan Neova AD-08 line. They ain't cheap. And I'm not saying they're the best out there, just one that has filled that role for me well so far.
The Bridgestone RE71's in that size have done well in the dry/wet use department, and especially well in the dry. But they burn up fast.
I'm about to give the Federal RS-RRs a try, just for yucks. I'm going to try out 205-50-15 and 235-35-17.
