"...a wreck where he was 30 feet in the air..." Think about that a bit. 30 ft is like a 3 story building! Even if that is a high estimate, 20 ft is like a two story building. Heck even just 10 feet. Imagine having your car fall off the roof or your garage. Imagine going through the barrier in a two story parking garage. Dang!
I'm glad that's all that happened to Andrew. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Maybe a little luck on his side, but I watched the cage vid earlier today and it was definitely beefy for 9.1/150. It would have been way worse with an 8.50 cage.
Here's to a speedy recovery!
Prayers for a speedy recovery.
NOOOOOOOO!
But - VERY proud of the quality work you guys always do, and for putting good effort where it pays off the most - safety!
Shame about the car, but the car is totally secondary. AWESOME that Andrew is ok!!!
Hoping for a speedy recovery!
That was terrifying to watch. I am glad Andrew is going to pull through ok.
Andrew sending best wishes to you. Mend up fast!!!!!
Sorry to hear about the wreck, glad to hear the injuries arent too bad, but you guys built an a awesome car that looks FANTASTIC tearing ass on that last run. Once it was hooked up and down the track it was absolutely hauling ass!
That video looks like that was an absolutely horrifying wreck. Glad to hear Andrew made it through that and hopefully recovery is quick and complete.
My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Godspeed on his recovery. Another testament to proper safety equipment.
Yikes that went all to heck in a hurry. I hope he has a speedy recovery. Possible nerve damage to the eyes sounds really scary to me.
Glad he made it out of there! That cage did its thing.
Oof. Glad to hear things sound good for recovery! Sorry for having to go through it all and balling up such a cool car. Hope the recovery road is smooth and as fast as possible.
It's been awesome watching the build videos, and I hate that the cage got tested, but well done.
Holy bork. I've got nothing useful to say other than damn, I'm glad Andy is 'OK' and on the mend.
I find it odd that is looks like the 1st person on the scene was a guy on a 4 wheeler that rode it from the start. This event has a bunch of 6 second cars.
Usually Pro Mods have a Safety truck waiting at the top end.
30 feet speaks volumes to their fabrication skill and attention to safety. Thank goodness you guys are safe!

Just saw the footage on 1320. I am definitely believer in the Nelson's safety ability.
Scary crash. Heal well and know we are all here for you.
We're all pulling for you! Get better soon so you can embarrass my entry at the next challenge.
Dang!!! Heal up Andrew! The real test will be in a week or so after the bruising and swelling starts to go down.
I went back and re-watched the cage video Calvin posted:

It's well worth watching.

Best of luck and medical science to Andrew and the Nelson family. I'm glad to see the roof of that car still so roof-shaped.
My thoughts are with Andrew for a speedy and full recovery.
