Greetings to the GRM brethren. Remember this thread? http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/andy-ann-hollis-one-lap-crx/30710/page1/
Well, we're doing it again for 2012. Only this time Ann's not going along (second grandkid due any day now) and we've recruited GRM's own Alan Cesar to help drive the track-to-track transits! So we'll be the "magazine car" as GRM is now presenting sponsor of the event. You'll get on-the-road updates and the like through various onlne methods. For sure, you can keep up-to-date via the Facebook page at OneLapCRX.com. Don't need to be a FB member to check it out, so don't be shy.
The car has a new motor with more power that we are putting the final touches on now. A little less weight will also help. And we've been hard at work getting some time in at a couple of the tracks on this year's route which are new to us.
The field is looking to be stacked this year with a bevy of big name teams expanding and sporting pro drivers. Other front-running veterans will also be returning. Watch as we battle it out with the big dogs in our lowly "junkyard dog" from the Econo car class.
PS: Alan has only a vague idea of what this event is really like so it will be fun to watch the realization come over him as the week progresses.
Here's a shot from last year:
What are the stops this year? Hallett I hope?
In reply to z31maniac:
Tire Rack wet pad->South Bend Speedway (circle track) -> Autobahn -> Mid-America -> Hallett -> High Plains -> Hastings -> Brainerd -> Road America -> Tire Rack.
Also, autocross at Hastings and drags at Brainerd.
Was just at Hallet last weekend for recon.
Excellent! I know some of me and some buddies will make it out for that.
Good luck!

Brainerd isn't too far away from me. I haven't made it up there yet, but I need an excuse.
Always talked about doing the One Lap in this style, good luck and have fun!
Can't believe it's been 9 years since I ran that event. I really want to try it again. Good luck!

Gotta support another Austin-based race effort! Whatever ended up happening to sneaky?
In reply to calteg:
Read all about it in the new couple of issues of GRM!!
In short, Sneaky got replaced by the One Lap CRX. Initially, it was just a transfer of the whole suspension/brakes/drivetrain over to a lighter, more aerodynamic chassis...but then we blew the motor up in Sneaky (later determined to be an oiling problem). What do you do when something breaks? Make it better! So we opted for a K24. We're now making in the vicinity of 250hp in a 1900 lb car. And if that won't put a smile on you face, nothing will.
