Went and looked at the 510 Thursday. Car wasn't as bad as I thought but still rough. Could be a great Challenge car, in an earlier life it belonged to an autocross guy (or gal). Problem is, I need about four more inches of leg room (felt like Bubba Smith in Police Academy). Is there a way to gain this without berkleying up the car? I posted this question on one of the more active 510 forums, but I'm in moderator hell at the moment waiting for them to ok my post (been over 24 hours). Btw, shortening the legs is not an option.

Remount the seat a few inches back? Seems a little too obvious.

In miatas people often perform a "foamectomy" and slice some of the padding out of the seat. Maybe you could do something similar in the 510? I doubt it would give you 4 inches to work with but would probable help a bit.
If it'll be a challenge car, are you planning to put a bucket seat in there?
If you do, just mount it a couple of inches further back, job done.

Thanks guys. Should have worded my question better. I was actually wondering how difficult relocating the seat was. Heard back from a guy on the 510 Realm, looks like it's a fairly easy process, just weld new mounts to the floorpan. In looking at the pics he provided, a new problem arises, how to mount the shoulder strap of the seat belt as I'll be sitting just behind the B pillar. Will probably look for a four point hoop with a seat belt bar.
Boxhead Tim, in answer to your question, it comes with buckets for the fronts so that's not a problem. Whether the budget will allow me to change them is down the road a piece.

Same here. That's why I bought the E30, looks very similar but newer and with a lots of aftermarket support.
OP, good luck on the 510 build!
