Coming home from the Zoo yesterday we passed one of these:

Right had drive and everything, it was a good thing I was not driving because we might have crashed into it my head spun around so fast.

A month or 2 ago I saw one of these advertised on CL for a ridiculously low price considering the "claimed" mileage. While it didn't look quite as nice as the one pictured, I figured $4995 for a sub 100K mile driver had to be some kind of hoax. Maybe the one I saw was a "replica"?

Uhhhhhhhhhhh.... WUT.

Did it have Canadian plates? (They're legal there now)

I only know of two of these in the states, and i didn't think either was in your area.

That is my dream car.

Where are you located?

There's a replica in PA area, black, with the 3sgte swap, but it's still FWD. $5k would be a fair, but not deal of the century price.

In Colorado there's another replica, but it was done the right way and had AWD. Started with a GT chassis. Last i heard he was talking about selling it because he has one of the two TRUE ST205s that i know of in the country.

You can actually order most of the body parts through various dealers, so there's probably more lookalikes out there than we would think. If you go to Toyota and give them a part number, chances are they can get it.

I bought my ST185RC front bumper cover from the local Toyota dealership. They had a few just sitting in warehouses in the US.

To be honest I didn't see what plates were on it, though I know it did not have a front plate.

My first thought was that it was a fake but then I saw the dud stitting on the "wrong " side of the car.

I fI had not had the family with me I would have turned around and followed the guy. Very cool.

Toyota Celica GT4. A turbocharged, all wheel drive Celica.

^What he said.

ST205 that we never got here.

Water to air intercooler, CT20B turbo, 540cc injectors stock, torsen rear, MAP-based 3sgte instead of the old AFM based.

It's a MONSTER of a car and with intake, exhaust, and a boost controller you can expect to see over 300hp to all four wheels. They are a huge improvement over the previous two generations of alltrac/GT4.

It's also the roadgoing version of the car that got Toyota kicked out of WRC.

I'm no longer "active" on either forum, though i was on both. I lurk alltrac.net pretty regularly, though.

I will probably go back to "active" status on alltrac.net once i finally get the rest of the pieces for my "4th gen" 3sgte swap. Dumping a Caldina motor in the Celica.

And yes. Another 9 years. They're legal in 2019. Start saving those pennies. I know i am

I'm sending an email your way.

Sooo... who here is impatient in their dreams for an ST205? (Looking at you, Per.)

Buy this, add an old 6th gen Celica hatch, stir vigorously. Notice that this has EVERYTHING to convert over. It's not a front clip. It's the whole damn car minus body shell.

I don't want to scare anybody off what looks like a heckuva deal, or cast any aspersions on anybody, but the ad says the stuff is in NY and the phone number is in Montréal. Maybe there's an excellent reason for that. (Québec and New York are contiguous, after all.) I'm just mentioning it for what it's worth.

Funny, but when I first saw the pic I thought, "Hyundai Tiburan. Maybe with a small body kit added."
