Critical automotive question:

You've gotten in your car, only to realize you left the passenger door open. There is a 0.0% chance you'll be getting out of your seat to deal with this. Do you close the door by:

A. Doing a quick burst of acceleration?

B. Doing a short roll in reverse then hitting the brakes?

Depends on room for/aft. But usually reverse roll and stab brake

B.

terrain dependent, if I'm facing up a hill forward acceleration can work.

acceleration seems to result in tire spin, and then having to slam on the brakes, so the door flings open again.

I used to impress my passengers in the van when the double doors were open.  Pull forward and hit the brakes to close the back door, then gun it to close the front door.

C- acceleration, followed by sick e-brake slide to absolutely pull all the ladies.

A only happens if the hold open detent is worn out.

I don't want to get going too fast and then have to brake and force the door forward

When I was 16 I purchased my dad's 1972 Chevy C10 pickup. On the day of purchase he backed it out of the shop with the door open and caught the door and bent it back in line with the front quarter panel. So then he handed me the keys and said "sorry about that."  Thus began 41 years of fixing vehicles so that I could drive them. And because that's completely off topic, I would always of course accelerate quickly and reverse and hit the brakes several times before I actually got out and walked around.

I can't remember ever leaving the door open. Since we're talking about doors... For some reason, every time SWMBO gets out of the Spitfire she slams the door. She did it in the Miata too. I've jammed fingers reaching across to slow the berker down.

The FIRM tech sheet envelopes always have pens in them. Someday I'll just drop them all off at the office when I show up and save them an entire year's pen budget.

No option for "crank wheel hard right, dump clutch and do donut?"

I'd get out and look for the person who had been trying to break into my car, since I never open the passenger door.

B because I have a mostly gravel driveway so punching it just results in throwing stones and not moving
