I'm putting out a call for GRMers who are experienced in A/C work, as I'm a total newb and have already reassembled a system that doesn't work. I'm absolutely at my wit's end with this thing (my wife's car) and she won't tell me directly (that would be too easy) that she hates that the A/C doesn't work, only in a roundabout womanly way, which is super-annoying. And also, happy wife, happy life. We also don't really have money for a new car, or money to drop $1500 on a $1600 car to get the A/C working.
The system is better than it was, according to the shop that tried to charge it for me, now only the expansion valve and evaporator are clogged instead of the entire system. I replaced everything except those two parts with used parts from a car with a healthy A/C system. Go figure, the two I don't replace cause the problem.
So, if you think you can help me out, let me know. I can offer payment in cases of beer, or, less preferably, cash money. I'm located in Camp Hill (across the Susquehanna from Hbg) but I can drive to you, any reasonable distance.
