The MS3 gets universal acclaim, but what about the MS6? They are the same price or even a bit cheaper, have AWD, and a bit more HP and TQ; but I never see a mention of them in motorhead forums.

Is there an issue with them?

Awesome - thanks for the link. Figured there was a reason.........

So IIUC, most of the issues on the MS6 are suspension/diff/trac control etc., issues with equipment that the MS3 does not have.

What about the MS3 turbo ? Clutch? Are they the same as on the MS6?

Dunno about the clutch, but the MS6 suffers the same smoking turbo issue as the early MS3s and CX-7s, no thanks to the lousy PCV design. Mazda's TSB is here:

The smoke doesn't usually rear its head unless a downpipe was installed or the car gets the piss driven out of it regularly.

for less money a Legacy GT of similar year is much more fun, has much more aftermarket, and much more potential (IMO)....plus real AWD, not the froo-froo FWD biased setup, which is really just good for snow and rain. I think it's lighter too.

MS3 is a beast though. Lighter, faster, and great handling out of the box. I hate the autocross days when a bunch of them show up and run against me and the subies :)

Well, I guess this explains why there are so many MS6 listed on CarMax. It seems like half the 6's listed are low mileage MS6's.

FWD bias or not, i've driven a couple, and i enjoyed them IMMENSELY. They're on my short list.
