I'm getting my butt kicked by one and would appreciate any help from you folks.

Are you replacing the whole hub assembly or pressing a new bearing in the old hub? I didn't even think you could get just the bearing these days.

If its the hub, you remove the four bolts from the back and it falls out. Lube o-ring, reinstall new one.

Or am I missing something?

Sounds about right.

Just wondering how a wheel bearing kicks your butt

It's a hub/bearing assembly. Curtis, what you are saying is exactly what I THOUGHT. I pulled the four bolts out and a little tap with the slide hammer had the hub/bearing/ splash shield and wheel speed sensor come off as an assembly. Now, I have the assembly on my bench and can't figure out how to seperate the hub from the splash shield. The hub/bearing and the "bearing case" (or something like that) have the exact same footprint so I can't use a press (plus, I'd bend the crap outta the splash shield). The wheel speed sensor needs to be replaced now since the end was so rusty that the rust fell off and you can see the guts of the sensor. So, basically I have the hub/bearing, splash shield assembly on my bench and despite the fact that I've been wrenching on cars for 20 years professionally I can't seem to get them apart. The new hub doesn't have a groove for a snap ring. I think I need to use the blue wrench and try to twist-wiggle-fenagle-cuss-and-swear it outta there.

Iceracer, I can't believe a wheel bearing is kicking my butt either
