A guy i know is asking me about selling the motor out of a 2003 BMW 325i.
It has 78k miles and afaik ran perfect until a jilted lover put a hose in the window and filled the interior with the water.. thats the story.
So, does anyone know what that motor might be worth? and/or transmission?

According to a quick check of www.car-part.com, they're pretty pricey. $1500 up to $3500. Just be sure it's not an SLEV engine (low emission version).
A car-part.com search makes me think something around $2,000.
M54s are worthless, but luckily for you I'll take it off your hands for free! Heck, I'll even come and pick it up, just so it isn't sitting at your house, collecting dust.
Assuming you're going to keep it, they fit into E30s.
