Michigan International Speedway that is. Maybe not so thrilling for some of you with HPDE or road race experience but I am an autocrosser so I think I am going to do it. I think I might like "hanging" the Miata up there by the wall just to say I did it. Oh ya the link:

Sounds like a good reason to have a Bars and Cars event afterward.
Count me in, what date do we want to do?
Ive done it with the Miata club several times. Lotsofun.

Go. Do. Take sombody with you that's "curious" about our sport, but hadn't really thought about it seriously yet. Best time I had at the Mitty 2010 was with my daughter, her b/f, and a mutual friend of theirs on a "ride around"..

They were really stoked just because they were "out there" after looking at it all weekend. My daughter especially enjoyed it. Discovered later it was because I quit racing after I divorced her mom when she was 4, and all she'd ever heard was my old stories (and saw the last onboard vid I still had..from my last race in a rented car at Robeling in `95 or so). She really wanted to see me drive the place for real, even if it was just a parade. Parent-child bonding moment FTW!
And her b/f is now asking me what he can do to his Accord to make it less of an appliance (I told him to ignore the "bling" and use the money for a driving school instead).
25 bucks to follow a pace car at 70 MPH. I don't think so. MIS is fun when you can go flat out, but this would be a bore.
Signed up. Not thrilled about the 70mph limit (I'd at least like the chance to break into the triple digits), but the $25 covers the whole carload, so I'm going to take my boys too! (Although I'm afraid this might hurt my chances at converting my oldest from NASCAR to F1)

if its like the even i went to at Texas Motor Speedway, the pace car doesn't hold back much. they say 70mph limit, but the pace ends up much faster. at TMS, 70 wouldn't even keep you on the banking iirc. i ran it in my f150, and was pushing 90-100mph, and the truck topped out at 110ish. if it had more in it, i could have gone faster.
it's likely as fast as you'll ever drive on a track without a helmet on, i'll say that.
3cyl Swifts can be loads of fun with a 70mph limit

Boy this is America, and in America we speak American... There ain't no mamby pamby 3cyl Swifts here, no boy, Swifts get 4 cylinders here (when we steal them from Canadia!)
My wife and I did this at Charlotte about 15 years ago. Thanksgiving weekend they had all the Nascar T-shirt trailers if you bought $25 in stuff you got a ticket for track time. I got a mess of nice $5 shirts and 5 laps on the track. They took us up closer to 90 and we had a ball, though it was odd being behind a club wagon at that speed with kids standing up leaning on the pass. side windows.
"Canadia" John ?? Is that like we live in"Michigania" ?
