I've got a tiny welding project I need to wrap up so I can get the miata back on the road. I thought I'd bribe my local welders with beer, only to find that both of them have moved due to high rent. Anyone around Austin with a MIG setup and/or actual skill (my welding is...suboptimal)?
I don't but I can ask one of the fleet mech if they do on the side.
What is it you need welded?
I'm repurposing this old Flyin Miata intercooler piping to use it in an over-the-radiator turbo setup. I've already cut some rough block off plates and just need the plates welded on. Doesn't have to be pretty, just needs to be air tight
I'm not very experienced welder but shouldn't that be TIG'd since it's aluminum??
Fairly certain it's steel, magnets stick to it
Hey talked to fleet mech today his greedy ass said $75 but he doesn't know when he'll have time. Might be better off going to muffler shop
