I won't give it away in case some haven't watched it yet but I think I need a cold shower. The veterans rocked this one. This season is the best ever.

LOL he is either going to blame everyone else and the tires or hopefully man up and admit fault.

Mr Hamilton does have some issues with restraint. I generally like how it turns out for him. Today especially.

Not gonna happen.

Ha! How often have you ever seen a racer admit fault?
Hamilton screwed himself, he would have had a top 5 or 6 with wasted tires but because he didn't want to be passed he got a McCrappy finish. Kimi won't smile til he wins.
Amazing race and finish!
That race and this season is why I'm a sad puppy when people say F1 sux. What a great race.
Hamfist showed he still lacks maturity and it cost him valuable points. Maldonado has issues, too but I saw that as a racing incident. Race officials disagree and added another 20sec to Maldo's time and he dropped from tenth to twelfth. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/100705
I guess it's possible the guy could have entered the track behind Hamilton and tried at the next corner; it's also possible they're trying to reign-in a driver who has been in more than his fair share of incidents.
Hamilton should be the one penalized. He was the slow car and was making moves that were putting Maldonado in danger. It is one thing to block it is a whole different ball game when you run some one off the road. I liked Hamilton, but now not so much. And the penalty is a crap call on the officials part. Hamilton should have got the penalty or it should have just been considered a self inflicted racing incident.

+1 Hamilton did not leave him an inch of room in a place where he himself overtook a position earlier - he knew exactly what Maldonado was doing and he pushed him off the road then left him no room to re-enter. The rules say you have to leave racing room. All Hammy's fault. Plus, he is a huge cock and I don't like him so it was his fault regardless.
Hamilton had position, so he had no responsibility to give Pastor any room. Just like when Maldonado squeezed Webber off the track earlier in the race.
What is relevant is that Maldanado had all four tires over the white then came back on track into the side of Hamilton.
But I agree with oldsaw, it's likely because Maldanado has been driving like an a$$ all season. I don't care for him and I'm indifferent about Hamilton.
I was screaming when I saw Grosjean's break!!!
Having watched the replay, once Maldonado left the racing surface, he HAS to give way. Hamilton was penalized at Spa a few years ago for the same thing.
Nice to see all the haters come out.
That may be the rule, but what if one left the racing surface to avoid contact with someone trying to push you off the track?
All I know is that Hamilton has quite a knack for these types of incidents. When Kimi wins one he probally won't even smile then. He must be a sponsor's dream. At least he will never say anything to tarnish the brand since he just mostly keeps his mouth shut.

What happens is that you have a "racing incident".
Maldonado saw how badly Hamilton's tires were going off; I think he made a poor decision against a driver who has a similar history to his and the ending on that corner was predictable.

Maldonado saw how badly Hamilton's tires were going off and pounced because there were only two to go and you have to strike while the iron is hot - his own tires could have been about to take a massive crap. He did it right where Hamilton pounced earlier (successfully) because you have to give racing room and the "other" drivers do know this and did leave him room.
The ending was predictable because Hamilton was involved and Maldonado is no Kimi. Kimi got it done like a pro because he is berkeleying awesome. He may have even smirked just a little when he did it. Probably not though.

Did none of you see any of Michael Shumacher's early career? Makes Hamilton look like a rank amateur at this. And Shuey seemed to get on OK as a driver a little later....
Hamilton DID get pushed off the track at Spa. Managed to come back on without hitting the guy who pushed him off, and got penalised for 'gaining an advantage' cause he passes the guy who forced him off on the run down to the next corner.
Cried with joy when Vettel broke. Cried with grief when Grosjean broke. Very happy for Alonso, can't wait to see Kimi win, and very happy to see Schumi on the podium again. The 13th-to-3rd in 4 laps was berkeleying master.
haven't seen the race- and i'm not really an F1 fan- but from what i gather here someone actually tried racing during a race, and thus got penalized?

Exactly. One of the best, like old times.

F1 isn't NASCAR, crashing into the side of a car isn't considered a valid way to pass.

No kidding. The podium could have been from 2005.
The last 20 laps were some of the best I've seen in F1.

I don't see it that way, but that's ok.
The stewards do give a penalty to Pastor, though. Hamilton didn't hit Maldonado, whereas Maldonado did it from off the track. It's not as if he had the corner- they were even. So.
But, if that's what you focus on for the race, from what I read, you missed a great race.
(due to bat problems, I missed 99% of the race- just looked on line to see a replay of the incident)
I can’t stand ‘AnyonebutAlonso’, but I have to admit he’s driving the ‘nads off that POS Ferrari this year. If he wins the WDC in what is at best the 3rd or 4th best car on the grid (and arguably worse than that) he’s earned it.
So back up thread, Hammy gets hit by a car that was effectively returning to the track having all 4 wheels off and it’s his fault? Give me a break. Maldonado has had some great drives this year and deserved his win in Spain last month, but that was a bone headed move. Hammy’s tires were shot, but he was a head and had the right (obligation) to try and keep his position. Maldonado still had a few corners and one more DRS zone to pass and would have done it easily if he had some patience.
I was bummed about Kobayashi hitting Petrov, I was rooting for the Caterhams.
I’m salivating at the prospect of ‘TheConvict’ leaving RBR and going to Ferrari, then I’d have the perfect trifecta of hate with my two least favorite drivers in my least favorite team
