I got my new project home last night, after about a hour and a half of loading it on the trailer, ate dinner and then found out I couldn't sleep at all. Couldn't stop thinking about what needed to be done with it and what it will be like when it's done if all goes as planned. Every time I closed my eyes I could hear the motor turn over, or I was mentally walking around the car, and when I did fall asleep I kept tossing and turning, I think I woke up at least twice an hour thinking about it. I've got it bad I know, it doesn't help that I've wanted one these for a LONG time. Oh well just thought I would ask.
On a side note, I've gotta thank MrJoshua for his essential help with it, without him I don't think I would have taken the plunge, his "expertise" (sp?) on the subject and the work we did yesterday trying to get it running was a great help, that and he let me blame the car in the yard on him to my wife, she already suspects it's mine. Just haven't told her yet.
whats the mystery car? pics or it doesnt exist
Yes, this also happens to me LOL. Make a written list and start a receipt file for the car. That should help you sleep better.
I see the pics... how's the smell??
Pics are coming, didn't have time to post any last night, something about getting home at 10:30 and having to leave for work by 3:30 am. The reciept file is already started, and the expense spreadsheet will be started tonight. Yeah it will @ the challenge, gonna run this instead of my daily protege.
Got to love the "funk" in this photo
Great find so what is the plan?
now giving that away would be like getting milk without the cow.....
Something fun, debating a small block swap, a killer suspension, and maybe some giggle gas.....the rest stays under wraps.
as for the "funk" I should have snapped a picture while it was wet today but I didn't want to break out the new camera in the rain. looks nice, should look better with some work, noticed a misaligned body panel today.
Cool! Hey, if you need a 5 lug rotor/4 piston caliper setup for all 4 corners, let me know.
that happens to me every single night. if i had a project car i'd at least be thinking about something fun.

That definately qualifies as a farm find! How long did it sit? Out back of a Mazda shop?
For me...I'm all excited about the project BEFORE I get it.
Then when I get it, I can think about the things to do to it and it actually helps "think" me to sleep.
I typically lose at least 50% interest on a project simply by acquiring it. Strange but true.

+1 to not sleeping. I didnt sleep a wink the day before and the day or two after getting my capri. I also found that if I do a mental exercise like "How could I drop $10k into my A6?", I can't sleep well either. (Not that I have money to drop.... )
Welcome to the old guys with rotors club. I gave 200 for my 1st gen eight years ago in about the same condition. Been a lot of blood sweat and tears in it. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

According to the guy I got it from it's been sitting almost 6 years. Killer compresion front and back, 3 solid thumpt thumpt thumpt's, ran it on either for a few seconds, sounds freaking awesome for a 150k rotary, got a fuel pump lined up for it already and we should be in driving buisness. Lol I'm making a habit outta this 200$ rotary thing, I paid the same thing for my 79sa. That one needs waaaaay more work.
