Hahaha, yeah you'd want to steam clean it inside and out. At least they had their own "tools", as sometimes they make use of various car parts... ewww.

My business partner's truck was in a couple of scenes on Army Wives. They paid $250 a day for it and had it for 3 days.

I believe I have - it's a small industry and I have certainly heard of him. Small world!

You're kiding, right? He refused? I thought that kind of use was the whole reason they built the Countach...

they were blowing crap up outside the radio studio for 2 weeks. kept hearing explosions through my earphones. imagine an indians game on one side 2 blocks away with fireworks going off every time they hit a home run, and F&F being shot the next block the other way with all their stuff blowing up.

That is really cool, I like that commercial until they get to the accord at the end.

(I can't find the exact message now.) My 1988 MR2 SC from the outside looks like all the other 85-87's so what the hell I sent them a photo. They replied they liked the car and think it will work, and will get back to me. I had a friend reply he's heard horror stories and had no interest, I figured I could always say no when I got the details. Anyone ever do this? I'm not sure if it's a full big-budget flick, or a Lifetime-type movie...
Nky? I'm always interested when I learned someone else on here lives near me. A movie was being filmed in Newport the other day and I drove right through the set, does that count? On a side note, I sorta snuck my way on to the set of the George Clooney Ides of March that was filmed here a few years ago. I ended up mingling with the extras and I was almost in the movie lol.

That makes it a lambor-gina coochtach.

I've made several attempts, but I've never been able to endure the entire movie. It was truly awful.
Here's a shot of the "wreck" from Fireproof.
It's the setup for a moment where firefighters, unable to get a trapped girl out of the Kia, have to lift the car off the tracks with her in it as a train approaches.
I was the Special Effects Coordinator.
The SVX had a duplicate smashed fender painted to match. I removed the wheel, and dropped the car on it's pan in the dirt. The wheel was propped in place at an angle to look like a broken A-arm.
The Kia was a lot more fun. We found a wrecked Kia in a junkyard with appropriate carnage, then bought a matching car. I detailed both cars to look alike (same stickers, tags, seat covers, wheels, etc). The wrecked car then had to be weight reduced so it could be lifted. I removed the entire drivetrain, cut out the floor pan, trunk pan, exhaust, fuel tanks, and all suspension pieces I could. The wheels were attached with almost nothing- they flopped around when moved. I added concealed lifting cables for hand-holds so the actors could lift the car.
Looks like we missed on the dirt disruption- a roll-over should have messed up the dirt a lot more.
Fun trivia- that curved "car part" in the middle of the picture doesn't belong there- it's the intake off a Yugo. I stuck it in the shot when no one was looking, and it remained!

I've always said that once I sold a car it was gone and I didn't care what happened to it, but I think this would break my heart. I'm basing that on the cars that I had an emotional attachment to, not my daily appliances.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I didn't hate that movie.
When cars are bought for movies, they often don't tell the people for two reasons: some don't want their pride and joy getting smashed and often the price goes up.
I'm guessing Racing The Rock doesn't count Man, the stuff I had to do to the car, and I didn't even get paid...
I worked with a crew on this short from Mazda. They were really respectful of the cars, but given the nature of the shoot that's not really surprising. One of the video guys had worked with Block on his stuff.

I assaulted a redbox in a vain attempt to get my dollar back from that pile.

Trust me. The only reaction that movie gave me other than utter disdain for m night whatevermalan, was the incredulous guffaw that escaped my mouth when a person was ejected from your erstwhile jeep. That movie was an affront to nature.
I always told myself that the Nova I had from 1999 to 2004 was the one Eddie Murphy drove in Beverly Hills Cop.. it was from Southern California and had the same paintjob..
My 1990 Toyota pickup was in enemy of the state, but only because I parked it at the fishing center at loch raven and paddled over to camp on feather island for the 4 days they were filming and they didn't bother to tow it.
